Understanding the Stone Comes First
Every slab of natural stone has its own character. Formed over millions of years, each piece has a unique mineral composition, hardness, grain direction, veining and natural stress points.
With Jared’s background in geology with a degree, we’ve always believed that the most important part of any project happens before the first cut is made.
We study each slab to understand how it will behave during fabrication and throughout its lifetime. By identifying natural movement, fault lines and grain direction, we can determine the best way to cut, support and finish the stone. This knowledge helps minimise the risk of cracking and ensures every benchtop is both structurally sound and visually stunning.

Sink Detailing
At NV Stone, we believe that accuracy begins at the templating stage.
All top-mount and undermount sinks must be on site before templating. This allows us to measure the actual sink rather than relying on drawings or manufacturer specifications, ensuring precise cut-outs, correct positioning and the perfect reveal. Even small variations between sink models can affect the final fit, so templating from the physical sink is essential.
Unlike many fabricators, NV Stone supplies, fits and installs all top-mount and undermount sinks during our installation.
We do not leave sinks loose for your plumber to fit later. By installing the sink ourselves, we can ensure it is correctly aligned, securely fixed and sealed to our quality standards before the benchtop is completed.
Mastering Seamless Finishes
Creating a seamless finish is where craftsmanship truly shines.
Every curve and mitred edge is carefully planned and fabricated to ensure the stone appears as one continuous piece.
Our process includes:
- Precision vein matching to maintain the natural flow of the stone.
- Careful colour matching for virtually invisible joins.
- Book matching where the slab allows, creating striking mirrored patterns.
- Precision mitred (faceted) construction for curved and thick-edge designs.
- Hours of hand grinding and polishing until every join and transition feels perfectly smooth.
The goal is simple: the craftsmanship should disappear, leaving only the beauty of the stone.
Installation Matters as Much as Fabrication
A beautifully fabricated benchtop can only perform as well as it is installed.
Installation is one of the most critical stages of the project. It is where every measurement, every join and every detail comes together. Even the highest-quality fabrication can be compromised if a benchtop isn’t installed correctly.
Our installation team takes the time to ensure:
- Every cabinet is checked and the benchtop is fully supported.
- The stone is level across every surface.
- Joins are accurately aligned and bonded.
- Overhangs and structural supports are correctly positioned.
- Final adjustments are made for a perfect fit.
We never rush this stage because we know that proper installation helps prevent unnecessary movement, reduces stress on the stone and minimises the risk of issues such as cracked stone, separated joins or adhesive failure over time.
